Crafting Love: My Week 1 Makes for the HTVRONT Community Crafting Love Event
These past two weeks have been such a joy-filled creative journey. The Crafting Love event challenged us to explore what love looks like when it’s made by hand — how it shines, how it lifts, how it grows, and how it shows up in the everyday moments. I leaned into that theme with intention, choosing projects that each tell their own little love story through paper, color, texture, and heart.
Below, I’m sharing all of my Week 1 and Week 2 entries — each one crafted with care, layered with meaning, and designed to make love visible in its own unique way.

Week 1 Theme: What Is Love?
1. Light Up My Life – Heart Lantern
This lantern was my way of expressing love as something that illuminates. The soft glow, the layered heart windows, and the gentle curves all come together to show how love lights the path ahead. It’s a reminder that love doesn’t just shine — it guides.
2. Love Is in the Air – Glitter Sky Card
For this piece, I imagined love floating all around us like a dreamy sky full of shimmer and softness. The layered clouds, glittery accents, and floating hearts capture that feeling of love rising, lifting, and surrounding us in the everyday moments.
3. Heart Of Love Gift Tote
This little tote represents love as a gift — something we offer freely, joyfully, and with intention. The stretched heart handle, the layered details, and the handmade charm all speak to the idea that love is something we carry and something we give.
Week 2 Theme: Love in Making
1. Love Takes Time – Clockwork Heart Art
This piece reflects the patience, care, and steady devotion that real love requires. The gears, the clock face, and the golden accents symbolize how love grows over time — not rushed, but built with intention.
2. Special Delivery – Loads of Love Truck Card
This cheerful little truck is all about sending love out into the world. With its bright colors, layered hearts, and playful message, it celebrates the joy of delivering kindness, encouragement, and affection wherever we go.
3. Handmade With Moo‑ch Love – 3D Layered Character Display
My sweet cow was inspired by the idea that love is something we make. As I crafted each layer, I imagined this little cow making a Valentine of its own — two makers, one message. It’s a reminder that handmade love carries a piece of the heart that created it.
Week 3: Love in Everyday Life — Make Love Visible Every Day
For Week 3 of the Crafting Love event, I wanted to shift the focus from big Valentine’s Day moments to the quieter, everyday ways we show care — the small gestures that make love feel steady, present, and real. This week’s theme, Love in everyday life — make love visible every day, inspired me to create pieces that feel gentle, encouraging, and rooted in daily connection.
1. More Self Love Affirmations — Envelope Magnet
I started with a project that speaks to something we often forget: loving ourselves counts, too. This tiny envelope magnet is filled with miniature affirmation notes — simple reminders to speak to yourself with kindness. It’s a small piece, but that’s the point. Self‑love grows in the little moments: a pause, a breath, a message you needed to hear today. This magnet is meant to sit somewhere you’ll see it often, quietly cheering you on.
2. Loading Love — Color‑Changing Mug
Next, I created a playful heat‑reactive mug that reveals more color as it warms up. The “Loading Love” design felt like the perfect metaphor for this week’s theme. Love doesn’t always arrive in grand gestures; sometimes it builds slowly, like a progress bar filling up as you move through your day. Whether it’s your morning coffee or a late‑night tea, this mug adds a little moment of joy — a reminder that love is always growing, always loading, even in the simplest routines.
3. Moo‑st Be Yours — 3D Character Display
To finish the week, I made a companion for my “Handmade With Moo‑ch Love” cow: a sweet little boyfriend named Moo‑st Be Yours. He holds a layered heart with the word “I'm yours,” a tiny gesture that says so much. Together, the pair celebrates the everyday tenderness between people who care for each other — the quiet, steady kind of love that doesn’t need a holiday to be felt. Creating him reminded me how even the smallest handmade piece can brighten someone’s day.
Looking Back at These Three Weeks
Together, these nine projects tell a story:
Love shines. Love lifts. Love gives. Love grows. Love travels. Love is made. Love lives everyday!
Every cut, every layer, every tiny detail was a way of slowing down and choosing love on purpose. And that’s what this event has been all about — making love visible through the things we create with our hands and share from our hearts, everyday.
